My name is Bethlyn Rider. I am a personal private chef in Bend, Oregon. If you want an event that’s filled with culinary delights, sophisticated presentation and that New York touch, then I am your chef!
I have more than 20 years’ experience as an Executive Chef, and I now specialize in creating gourmet cuisine as a private chef.
Born and raised in the New York, I attended the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY). I worked in several restaurants, working my way up to Executive Chef . Worked at some of the finest restaurants and hotels in Denver, Boulder, and Santa Fe, NM.
About 12 years ago, I moved to Bend, OR . We opened up Bethlyn’s Global Fusion. Then our restaurant building was sold and we folded in April, 2021. Had a great time as a restauranteur. But, my true passion is catering and a Private Chef.
I am trained in many flavors of cuisine. Thanks to travel and life experience, I know a lot about other foods and love to create fusion dishes. Much of my cooking today incorporates Asian, French, Portuguese, Mexican and other world influences. And let’s not forget good old American comfort food…I love to serve that! I also specialize in nutritional cuisine and sensitive diets. My specialty is also that I can create dishes that are Gluten-Free, Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy-free, Organic and more.
I am versatile because I love to create menus, invent new and exciting dishes and use my knowledge and experience. I can create a memorable evening for anyone looking for quality and presentation. You will enjoy a personal interactive experience with me, your chef.
I have worked as a personal private chef for families, couples and lots of bachelorettes. And I also love to teach in-home cooking classes for people in their own kitchens.
